Wlaking for a good distance will make you sweat. If you sweat alot, that's great. You lose the fluid, and get your organs pumping to burn off the fat. It doesn't feel like it's working , but it is. Weigh yourself before and after. The fluid weighs more than you think. 60 pounds can go in a few months if you are working on it every day. If you take your mind of of it and continue with your walking and a few sit ups, you'll lose it before you know it, but the more you do, the more you lose.

A very, very long time. And this question doesn't provide enough information, because I have no idea what your calorie intake is, or what your age is.

How much weight you lose running varies with the terrain, your starting weight, your speed, and the amount of time spent running. On average, you burn 150 calories for every mile that you run in about 20 minutes.

It will take you about 4-6 months if you consistently exercise and condition your body and eat right. Expect ups and downs and plateaus, but try and focus on the inches you lose and not the pounds. Remember fat weighs less than muscle, so even if you don't loss the weight, you will be more healthy and look more toned.

It doesn't really work that way. With the high-energy foods available to us easily today there's virtually no chance to lose weight simply by running, you've got to start by controlling your diet. Once you're reasonably certain that you aren't overeating you can start running to boost your metabolism. A healthy rate of weight loss is 1-2 pounds/week, so with a decent diet and some exercise you can lose thirty punds in 3-4 months. One hour/day of something that gets your heart rate up would help, rapid walking is fine.
