Well first of all I'm a model and I've been through all of this.
You have to get in contact with an agency and send in the requirements they ask for, if they e-mail you back or call you saying their interested in you you will have an appointement to go in and meet them, if you are selected to become a part of the agency that's great then!
In my case, my agency asked me to take modeling courses, theres more then you thnk to just standing there and looking pretty, you have to learn all the basics from business to runway, photoshoots, makeup and how you must appear. It may take quite a few months maybe even a year. But durring the courses it's not rare for you to go to auditions or be selected for jobs if your doing well in your courses and are taking into account the learning. Good luck!
