Medicaid/nursing home status does not excuse one from paying taxes.
On medicaid they say I qualify for a buy in under QMB .The state is paying my buy in but medicare sends me the bills and insist that Medicaid is not paying. I have been trying to straiten this out for 18 months now .medicare blames social security , social security blames medicaid , medicaid blames social security. Now I am told the Dept. of buy-ins is the only ones that can fix the problem. Is there such a Dept? How could I contact them?
Yes, 30 monthly as of 2012, with prior approval.
Currently with the Illinois budget crisis, no one is paying the bills.
No, settling up with the nursing home(s) is not an eligibility factor for Medicaid.
No they do not cover the diet pill, they use to cover the cost to visit the doctor but they stop paying for it.
You cannot bill Medicaid for your HMO deductibles. However, if you are medicaid eligible, you don't need a Medicare HMO - Medicaid should be paying your Medicare co-payments, deductibles, and any other covered expenses that Medicare doesn't pay. If you are on Medicaid spend-down, your HMO deductible is a medical expense that can be applied to spend-down.
No because Illinois will want some state income taxes paid on the income that was earned in Illinois.
yup
If you need help paying for dental care, apply for Medicaid at the welfare office in your county. You'll need to provide proof of income for everyone that lives in your house. If you qualify for Medicaid due to pregnancy or disability, you'll need to provide documentation from your physician.
in your mom
That's up to the hospital. However, it seems unlikely that the spend-down amount will cover a significant part of the expense - i.e., Medicaid is going to end up paying most of the bill.
