Assume you mean to the south coast of Spain so will describe to Fuengerola. The drive from Sheffiled to Dover would take you around 6 hours at best, though as with any journey on UK motorways it would be very dependent on avoiding hold ups so if you left Sheffield around midnight you should find it easiest to get to Dover by about 6AM and so do most of the driving through France in daylight.. At Dover you would need to either book your car on to a cross channel ferry to Calais or go through the Channel tunnel with your car, and delays are possible dependent on season but ferry is probably best if you do not book in advance and it takes 30 minutes to cross the channel. Then on arrival in Calais you have a drive of approximately 1070 kilometres to the Spanish border at Hendaye, which should take a minimum about 10 hours. After crossing the frontier into Spain it is approximately 770 kms to Fuengirola via Madrid and that is likely to take you at least 8 hours and delays are likely when you pass through the Madrid area, which could add an hour or two to the total time driving in Spain. So assuming you have two drivers and one sleeps while the other drives, the quickest time to drive the total distance from Sheffield to Fuengirola including the ferry crossing would be about 24 hours. Though as it is likely that you would encounter delays somewhere in the three countries and there would obviously be a need to stop for occasional breaks to fill up with petrol or diesel, and to use toilet and possibly have a coffee and snack that would also add time to the journey. So a more realistic guess might be a total of about 28 hours minimum driving. But most doing this sort of drive would probably want to stop a night somehow en route to make it less tiring which would obviously add to your total time but be safer and less stressful. With such a night's B & B perhaps somewhere near French-Spanish frontier the total time would be around 36 hours from leaving Sheffield to arriving at Fuengirola.
