For health animal check-ups, a small animal veterinarian needs about 15 minutes per appointment. If all the appointments for a day are health pet visits and the vet works 8 hours, the maximum number a vet will see would be 32. However, a large animal veterinarian may do a single herd check a day and look at 5,000 dairy cows in a day.

This is very dependent upon the type of practice the veterinarian is in. A large animal practitioner who primary treats large dairy cow herds may do health checks on over 75,000 animals a year. A small animal practitioner who focuses on companion animal behavior treatment may treat only 500 animals in a year.

It depends on how many vets they are and the quality of accomplishing work. The faster they work, the more pets they take care off.
