Why animals are treated cruelly?

The largest time animals were treated cruelly was a hundred or so years ago when it was legal to beat animals or do other horrible things to them. Recently there have been laws against animal cruelty and shelters like the SPCA are doing all they can to prevent cruelty to animals. Most of the time people are cruel to animals is because they don't know how to work with the animal, they don't know any better or they are just cruel people who have had a bad background with animals. Some good websites on this topic are http://www.animalcruelty.com/ http://www.pet-abuse.com/pages/animal_cruelty.php http://www.spca.org.nz/general/home.htm

What damage is Animal cruelty doing to everyone and animals?

Animal cruely brings grief and turmoil into people's lives. There are sociopathic pet owners who abuse their pets and not only does the animal suffer, but it causes grief to the people who witness the abuse, either/or just know abuse goes on. There is satanic ritual abuse of animals. The people who do this can take your pets without your knowledge and abuse them. These abuses of animals upset those of us who have empathy. Some children are brought up to think animal cruelty is acceptable. This does them a lot of damage. An animal who is abused may not trust anyone. Dogs who are abused will bite out of fear. Some other animals just run away. Cruelty, abuse and neglect makes animals ill, causes injury and they can die. Animal cruelty done in front of small children can cause the children to grow up with sociopathic passtimes or criminal passtimes because they try to re-play the things they see. For that reason, people should not even slaughter livestock animals in front of them.

How serious is animal cruelty in America?

Honestly, it depends on who you ask. To me, every animal cruelty case is serious, so if you ask me, I would say it is very serious. There are many different kinds of animal cruelty, though. There are owners simply abusing their pets, and there is animal testing, and mass production farms, like KFC.

How severe is animal cruelty?

animal cruelty looks like an animal real skinny, injured, sick, and just real unhealthy. if you never see the owners around feeding, bathing, or paying any attention to the animal at all then more then likely its animal neglect which is almost the same thing as animal cruelty. if people beat there animals then that's cruelty. if they keep them tied up on a short leash so where they will have to stand in there own "mess" then that's cruelty. please help stop animal cruelty and neglect!
