Historically, some women in the US between 1700 and 1900 had 20 to 22 children. Of course, many babies died during childbirth or before age 5 years old. And, not all families wanted or could get After 1900, women in the US began to have fewer children, 2 to 10. I know someone in the 1950s who birthed 16 children, though, so it was a personal choice for each couple. People today typically have fewer children but some couples believe in larger families, for example, the Duggars (22 and Counting).

Female mice will mostly have from 6-12 babies at a time. Some Female might have more or less than that. There really is no right answer to this.
