There are many problems with your question. First there are several different size shot that are considered bird shot. This alone would change the number of pellets. but to add to the problem there is not a standard length. Lengths vary from 2.25 to 3 inches. shot shells are loaded typically by weight until you get to the really large sizes. btw bb is a size of shot typically used to shoot large birds like turkeys.
You could eaither shoot dove with a 20 gauge shotgun or a 12 gauge shotgun. You should also use a bird shot shells

While the 20 gauge is a all around excellent size for rabbits to partridge,I for one would not use this for snow goose,or any other bird of that size.There can be long shots that a 20 gauge just does not have the power to reach,and the amount of shot in a 20 gauge round is going to put you at a serious disadvantage to kill these geese cleanly.I would stick with a 12 gauge for such hunting applications.
