Benzos and alcohol will cause you brain to forget to breath. Consuming both at the same time is playing Russian Roulette. You will probably make it out OK a couple of times. However, it is still a gamble.
If you have to get really messed-up; smoke a bunch of weed and drink a few beers. You'll look like an idiot, pass-out, but still wake up the next morning to reflect how you need to adjust your life so you don't have to rely chemicals for a good time.
