There are four types of belts on a 1997 Mazda Millenia S. There are 4 seatbelts, a timing belt, a serpentine or drive belt, and a fan belt. Please refer to your owners manual for instructions on how to replace them. If you do not have an owners manual, you may purchase one through Amazon.com

To replace the timing belt cover on a Mazda Millenia, first ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove any obstructions, such as the drive belts and any components blocking access to the timing belt cover. Unscrew the bolts securing the cover and carefully remove it, taking care not to damage the gasket. After replacing the cover with a new gasket, reassemble the components in reverse order and double-check that everything is securely fastened before reconnecting the battery.
how many belts are in mazda 626
I just replaced my fan belts on a 2002 Mazda Protege. It came out to a little over $200. I took my car to a Mazda dealership.
To change the fan belt on a 2001 Mazda Millenia, first ensure the engine is off and cool. Remove the engine cover if necessary, then locate the belt tensioner and use a wrench to relieve tension on the belt. Slide the old belt off the pulleys and replace it with the new one, ensuring it is properly seated on each pulley. Finally, reapply tension using the tensioner and check the alignment before reassembling any removed components.
To remove the engine from a 1996 Mazda Millenia, first disconnect the battery and drain the engine oil and coolant. Next, remove the necessary components such as the air intake, exhaust, and any accessory belts. Support the engine with a hoist, detach the engine mounts, and then disconnect wiring harnesses and hoses. Finally, lift the engine out of the engine bay carefully.
the millenia requires an oil and oil filter change every 7000 miles. Check and adjust the brakes every 25,000 miles. The belts including the timing belt require replacement every 60,000 miles (although I did my millenia L at 70,000). Be careful here since the S model has special needs with that supercharger. Change all the fluids at 100,000 miles as well as the distributor cap and rotor, plug wires and fuel filter (which is accessable from inside the trunk, strangely enough). at 120,000 replace the belts and timing belt again and the water pump and alternator.
Cost for me was 120, but that is the high end. One thing to be sure of is to take it to a Mazda garage. Mazda protege's have been known to hate non-mazda belts and cause high pitched squealing after replacement.
timing belts are fairly easy to fix ,you need the # on the belt to get the right replacement ,go to an auto body shop, they know how to do this job.
The previous response was: "I have a Mazda millenia 1998 that has over 200,000 miles on it. I have always replaced my timing belt every 60,000 miles. I hope this helps." The manual says to change at 105,000. The reality is that the belts are kevlar and will likely last much longer. The engine is non-interference so it will not damage the engine if it breaks. The experts I speak with say they would drive it until it breaks. It will cost you around $500 at least in labor to replace and many times if the job is done improperly you will have other problems as a result. For the record, my 99 S has 110,000 on the original belt. I'm not even thinking about replacing it... until it breaks (if that ever happens).
