Will REF protect the outgoing cables when the Ct's are fitted at the transformer?

REF protection, when installed and set correctly, will protect everything within the CT's. If the CTs are on breakers, then yes, the cables from the transformer to the breakers will be in the zone of protection. If the CTs used are in the bushings of the transformer, then no.

Why are large transformers designed not to have optimum regulation in order for circuit breakers to be within reasonable size?

Transformer voltage regulation and size of the circuit breakers have no direct relation

What is use of bushing in transformer?

A bushing is a hollow insulator, used with transformers and circuit breakers. It provides a means by which an energised conductor can pass from the outside to the inside of the transformer or circuit breaker.

How you using ref relay in transformer?

an REF relay (restricted earth fault) is used to provide ground fault protection for a transformer. Its' operation is limited by CTs starred towards the transformer (usually on the transformer bushings or in breakers used to isolate the transformer), so it will only operate for transformer related faults. Because of this, it can be set to operate very quickly.

Where are bonk breakers available?

There are many online shops that sell bonk breakers. Amazon.com is one of online shop that sells bonk breakers with any kind of models. You can visit www.amazon.com

Which device gives protection against the internal faults occurring in a transformer?

Supply transformers at substations are provided with circuit-breakers for protection.

How many type of transformer?

What is the effect of back charging of 250MVA 15.75KV 240KV generator transformer and how many times one can back charge the generator transformer?

Generator Transformer back-charging is done because of the following reasons:- 1. To ensure the healthiness of Generator transformer after performing all the transformer related tests before synchronising with the grid. 2. To ensure all the protections of transformer before putting it into actual operation. 3. To check the polarity, ratio & connections of transformer. 4. To check all the PTs & CTs in circuit & their availability to the relays for protection & metering. 5. To check Voltage level & polarity at LAPT. 6. To perform change-over operation checks of UATs & the tie breakers with main breakers. Since all the protection system related to relays acts in the same way for forward & reverse power, we check the availabilty of each equipment before final synchronisation with the grid.

How many houses can be run off of one electrical transformer drum?

Depends on the rating of the transformer and the running load of the houses connected to it.

A transformer can only?

A transformer does many things.

How many ice breakers are in a tin?

there are around 60-100 ice breakers in a pack

How electricity gets from the generating plant to an appliance in a home?

through: wires, transformers, breakers, switches, etc.Something like:Power plant wires carry electricity to plant switching farm.Switches in switching farm direct electricity to step-up transformer for a transmission line.Step-up transformer increases voltage to reduce transmission losses.Wires from step-up transformer go to high voltage breaker to protect switching farm from transmission line current spikes.Transmission line wires attach to breakers and leave plant switching farm.Transmission line wires run hundreds of miles to consumer locations.Transmission line wires enter a distribution switching farm and attach to high voltage breakers to protect switching farm from transmission line current spikes.Wires from breakers go to step-down transformer to decrease voltage for safe distribution.Wires from step-down transformer go to switches in switching farm.Switches in switching farm connect electricity to desired distribution lines. Each distribution line has breakers on it to protect the switching farm and the line.Distribution lines run to various neighborhoods. At each customer location the distribution line connects to a step-down transformer to reduce the voltage to what the customer needs (e.g. U.S. residential 120V/240V 2phase).Wires connect the step-down transformer to the customer's fuse/breaker box and distribution panel.
