Very importantly, indeed yes. Henry VII of England sent his daughter Margaret to marry James IV of Scotland. Her son became James V of Scotland. Her Granddaughter was Mary Queen of Scots, and when the English Tudor dynasty died out (in 1603), then by virtue of Tudor Ancestry Margaret's great Grandson James VI of Scotland became James I of England. Hence today's Royal Family trace their ancestry via these Stuarts back to the Monarchy of the earliest times in Britain.

Four sons and one daughter.

The first two boys died quickly and the third one became king James V of Scotland.

The fourth son died as a baby too.

The daughter, Margaret Douglas, would be the mother of Mary of Scots' second husband, Henry Darnley. She was not the daughter of James IV, but of her mother's second husband Archibald Douglas.
