plug-----1 - 5
--------------------------------------------------------
The engine cylinder locations are numbered :
firewall
1-----2-----3
4-----5-----6
front of vehicle > driver
8 -one per cylinder
IT Has 1 you can disassemble the cowl lever & wiper motor to get to it.
i have no spark from coil..i was driving down the road and it just quit
Which engine does this have? Many newer model vehicles are doing away with single coils/distributors for coil packs or Coil Over Plus systems. If you have a distributor, just follow the center wire, it will lead you right to the coil. If there isn't a distributor, you have a different type of system
On a 1998 Pathfinder, each spark plug has its own coil pack unit. They are located on the ends of each one of the spark plugs in the motor. A 6-cylinder motor has 6 coil packs.
Check your coil pack for cracks and try spraying it with a water repellent such as WD-40.
If you take the engine cover off, down the left side of the block (passenger side of the car) are four coil packs. You remove the coil packs and the plugs are inside the block. You'll need an extension to remove them.
there are coil packs on the 98 passports. to get to the spark plugs you have to take the coil packs off they are square plastic and have 2 screws or little hex drive bolts one on each side you must remove those screws and remove the coil packs but be careful not too break the plug socket that sticks down from the coil pack into the valve cover and dont over torque the screws when you put them back I believe they are 8mm but if not 8 then 10
check the coil packs by pulling a wire off if it sparks then that coil pack is good if not then you need to replace it on a v8 their is 4 coil packs on a v6 their is only 3 they should be located on the driver side about in the middle of the engine if you don't get spark out of any of them then its the module under neath them if you can find one at a salvage yard it is cheaper than new if it is a coil pack their about 20 bucks
No - they are not.
