If you are preparing to undergo carpal tunnel syndrome surgery, a key thing to organize is to have someone with you, not only to assist straight after the surgery, but also for the next few days after.
It depends on what you do for work. If you do desk work, then you could return that day or the next. If you do a lot of manual labor, gripping, power tools etc.. you may want to wait a couple of days.
You can wash your hands any time you like. just take it easy around the site where you have been stitched up.
Not sure but would like to know. I had CP surgery 3 days ago and I have bruising
Carpal tunnel is actually the name of the area in your wrist where nerves and tendons pass through. If the median nerve gets compressed or pinched in some way, this can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome. Typically it can cause night or morning symptoms of numbness and tingling of the hands (first 2 or 3 fingers) and sometimes pain. If it goes on long enough w/o treatment, you can lose muscle tone and grip strength in your hands.
You will need to check with your states work comp laws to find out how long you have to report a workrelated injury. Some states it is 30 days for acute injuries and longer for repetitive use type injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome. Remember just because you file it doesn't mean it will be accepted as a workrelated case.
The injection of a corticosteroidal medication into the affected wrist. Then a restriction on any movement for several days, with the wearing of a wrist splint for about one month and hand and wrist exercises.
The doctor will remove my stitches in three more days. That comedian's stories kept us in stitches! The seamstress stitches patches today!
Most stitches now a days are synthetic...so no
What is the average payout for carpal tunnel surgery in both hands from work comp in the state of Kansas after three years of not receiving any work comp pay during the time I was off. 1st off. Why were you off for so long? That alone is crazy. Most people are back to work in 7 to 10 days at a light duty then full duty in 4 weeks time.. 3 years? not good...
Yes, after the operation is performed you will have a splint put on in the operating room. You should keep this on for a few days at least, then if you feel ok, you can take it off and wear a removable brace.
