It can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks for an orange to start growing mold, depending on how ripe it is, the temperature and humidity of its environment, and whether it has any damage or breaks in the skin.
3-5 days.
An orange peel can start to mold within a few days to a week, depending on environmental conditions such as humidity and temperature. In warm, humid environments, mold growth can occur more rapidly. Conversely, in cooler or drier conditions, it may take longer for mold to develop. Proper storage can also influence the rate of mold growth.

If you have orange mold growing in your kitchen compost bin, you need to take your compost out. Mold is hot healthy to have in your house.
It would take a longer time to grow mold on an orange in the fridge than it would being left out in room temperature. Putting fruit in the fridge helps the fruit stay fresher for a long time period. I would think it would take a couple of weeks, in other words a long time for an orange to grow mold while in the fridge.
