The answer to this would be around 10% die of those who were Diagnosed. The suicide rate is higher then this, meaning it is more likely they will commit or attempt to commit suicide from it, then die from it. As for those getting treatment, less then half fully recover, and about 20% stay anorexic. This was all found at [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anorexia_nervosa#Prognosis] Hope this helps.

It is hard to put an exact number on it. About 10% to 20% of anorexics will eventually die from the disroder or directly from a side effect or result of the disorder. That can equate to about 50 to 100 people per day, depending on how you look at it. Also, some may die as a result of other conditions that are only made worse by anorexia, in which case they are not counted in statistics as having anorexia as a primary cause of death.
According to the CDC, an average of 150 people died each year between 2003 and 2006 from ALL eating disorders. Those statistics list the eating disorder as the primary or UNDERLYING cause of death.
Also, According to the CDC, roughly 221,000 people were hospitalized because of ALL eating disorders.
If we do the math, 150/221,000 - this is way less than 1% (0.067%) and is the fatality rate for ALL eating disorders according to ACTUAL RESEARCHED STATISTICS on the CDC web-site.

There are 8 million peopole in the US with EDs. 1 in 10 Anorectics (that is the correct term for a person with Anorexia) will die from Anorexia. I am unsure of the total amount of deaths.
The CDC says that for ALL EATING disorders, where the eating disorder is the DIRECT or the UNDERLYING cause of death, from 2002 to 2005, there were an average of 150 deaths per year.
