Sorry to take so long in answering. It took me a while to remember where my information was located.

Nearly all armbands were worn by members of the Political, not the Military branches of the Nazi Government.

25 Nazi Party. The higher your rank in the Party, the more elaborate the armband. 4 SA (Storm Troopers) 1 NSKK (Motor units of the NAZI Party. 1 RAD (Labor Corp) 2 HJ (Hitler Youth) 3 SS (Hitler's Bodyguards) 1 NSD (Student's Organization) 2 Workers Organization - - - - - - - This was the limit of my sources, but I suspect that there were others. One that comes to mind was issued at the end of the war (which I have) saying: "Deutsche Wehrmacht" meaning the wearer had no uniform, but he was a member to the German Army. I also have an Army Armband, but have no source either saying why it was worn, nor have I ever seen a photo of anyone wearing it.
