I think that 5,000,000,000 motorcycles have been made. The question is how many of the flagship high horsepower 1968 BSA spitfires were made. A few thousand for that year my estimate. Maybe less.
The answers is unknown but 20,351 were built and 50 Seafire's (carrier going Spitfire's) and Spitfires are still flying and 20 undergoing restoration. Hope this helps.
The RAF has used many dozens of type of aircraft. You are probably tthinking of the famous Spitfires.

About 20,350 Spitfires were made in WW2. - Not included in this number were the later models of Spiteful and the naval Seafang, which were really different but similar aircraft.
There were 22 different basic 'marks' of Spitfire and each had many variations. Then there were also Spiteful's, Seafires and Seafangs, the naval versions. The Merlin engine which powered most Spitfires had over 60 variants. It was in constant development throughout the war. Near the end of WW2, a new Rolls Royce engine, the Griffon was used in some late model Spitfires. -Propellers were also in constant development and Spitfires could be seen with 3, 4 or 5 blade propellers.
Like many other fighter aircraft of that period, Spitfires were made from an aluminium frame and skinned with an aluminium alloy called 'dural'.
Spitfires were made with many different versions of the Merlin and Griffon engines, and also many different propellers with 3, 4, 5 and 6 blades. Most of the Mk 9 and it's variants (the most common Spitfires) Used the Rotol 4 blade propeller.
Most Spitfires were about 30 feet long and had 36 ft,10 inch wingspan, but there were many variations. In over 22 'marks' of Spitfire there were at least 4 different wings and 5-6 different fuselages.
There are Spitfires in many museums around the US. There are also many flying Spitfires . -Google "surviving Spitfires" and see the list.

There were at least 6 basic designs with many variations, totalling 24 different Spitfires and 6 Seafires.
In the UK there are just over 20 flying and worldwide approaching 40 (according to UK's Channel 4 TV chat forum)
The Spitfire was designed by RJ Mitchell, and built by Supermarine. Many of them were maunfactured in Southampton in Britain.
