You can easily see for yourself. Read the first one in Exodus, Ch. 20, and the other one

in Deuteronomy, beginning with the 6th Verse in Ch. 5.

Whether we call them different "versions", "commandments", or whatever, the wordings

are clearly different, leading any person who takes The Bible to be anything more than

bedtime stories to ponder what we can learn from the differences between the two.

There is a whole body of over 2,000 years of scholarly commentary that deals with exactly

that question.

Happy reading.

Roman Catholic AnswerThere are two versions of the ten commandments. One is found in Exodus 20:1-17; the other version is found in Deuteronomy 5:6-21. The protestant numbering is slightly off as they divide the first commandment into two and combine that last two so as to end up with ten.

There are two slightly different versions of the 10 commandments, one in Exodus, one in Deuteronomy.
