six pounds of dry beans
Your answer depends on the type of bean you want to serve, and whether it not it is the main course, or a side dish. As a side dish, for example, a mix of soup beans measuring about half a cup per serving would be enough.
As a part of a main entree, I would make 5 pounds of beans
I donβt know how much protein n cup of pinto beans
Most any kind of bean would have been available. Red beans, black beans, Pinto and green beans.
If you would like to, it may not taste great but, i have never tried it.
I would make 75 pounds of fresh green beans for them.
Since black beans are in the same legume family as pinto and kidney beans, it makes sense that someone allergic to pintos and kidneys could also be allergic to black ....and other beans. However, when I had my fancy $900.00 blood test for food allergies done (immunolab, Florida), my results showed only kidney bean and pinto bean allergies, but none to black beans, chick peas, or soy.
I have never seen pinto beans spoil in less than a period of about two hours however in my years of cooking you would have to leave them out of the refrigerator for several hours before they would began to spoil. Beans are a staple food in the South and they would have to stay out all night in some cases before spoilage would sat in however If I intended on selling the beans to the public I would follow the 2 HOUR RULE and just cook a fresh pot.
They are the same bean, they are only called different names by differnet regions of the country. For example, the main Indian Princess of the Hopi Tribe "KimKim Chickaauwa" calls them kidney beans, while in South Texas, Country Music singers like Eric Stone always refer to them as Pintos.Kidney beans are larger than pinto beans and are solid red. Pinto beans got their name from the Spanish word "pintado," which means "painted." Hence, pinto ponies and pinto beans, which are smaller than kidney beans and are reddish brown and speckled. Kidney beans and pinto beans are not the same bean.
pinto beans provide about 74% of the recommended daily intake of fiber per cup. A study published in 2003 in the Archives of Internal Medicine confirmed that eating high fiber foods such as pinto beans helps prevent heart disease. In addition to fiber, pinto beans contain significant amounts of folate - 100% of the daily value of folate would, according to some estimates, reduce by 10% the number of heart attacks suffered by Americans each year.
Paprika has little or no flavor it's mainly used for color it's a main ingredient in chili powder which I would use in pinto beans rather than strait paprika. Taste some of both in the palm of your hand and you'll see what I mean.
it entirely depends on how much these 12 people eat!
