how many aircraft carrier does the usa have

There were several Navy jets used in Vietnam, however, the primary fighter aircraft was the F-4 Phantom and the retiring F-8 Crusader. The Navy also used many of their Korean era aircraft in an attack role, one in particular was the A-1 Skyraider. The US Navy also used the A-4 Skyhawk, the A-6 Intruder, and the A-7 Corsair II. The Navy used quite a few specialty aircraft for spotting, surveillance, and refuelling. This was a big period of experimental aircraft for the Navy, but many of these aircraft were not built as the conflict was quickly being brought to a halt. Gene Davis

The US name for fighter aircraft until 1946 was "Pursuit Aircraft" , hence the letter P in front of the model number.
No a stealth bomber cannot land on an aircraft carrier. Bomber tend to need longer runways then smaller fighter aircraft. In late 1980's, the US Navy began a contract for a new all-weather, stealth fighter to replace the A-6 Intruder. This aircraft was designated the A-12 and it was the general shape of a flying wing---actually a triangle. The prime contractor was General Dynamics. The program was cancelled by Sectary of Defense Dick Chaney, thus ending the first Navy stealth fighter.
