A 5 gallon aquarium would be suitable for one betta fish, or perhaps 6 to 8 ghost shrimp, but not much else as it's far too small.

If you want to get one goldfish, you will need to buy a 20 gallon aquarium kit.

When the tank is filled it will not be to the brim so it will only hold about 3.5 or at most 4 gallons. Your tank will hold a maximum of 3 inches of fish provided you follow the rules . The basic rules of fish keeping state :- 1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water. :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank need at least 50% of its water changed every week.. Follow those rules and your fish stand a chance of survival. Fail to follow those rules and I can guarantee failure.

A good rule of thumb is one small tetra, like a neon tetra per one US gallon of water.

Keeping a small fish tank, especially a tropical tank is much more difficult than maintaining a large tank. A small tank has small amount of water and because it is such a small amount, any type of change will happen to the entire tank quickly, especially a temperature change. Consider getting a fish tank that is at least 20 gallons or more.

It is not recommended to keep fish in such a small tank but you could but small fish in such as neon tetras, cardinal tetras, firework rasboras, 2 dwarf gouramis (but can die of indrovirus which you cant cure) you should ask your local fish shop for any other fish that could go in but stick to the ones that stay small and don't grow very big.

All these are tropical fish. Goldfish and Marines need a larger tank as Goldfish can grow quite big.

Small fish include guppies, danios, neon tetras, cardinal tetras, harlequin fish, gouramis, cories, platys, and small goldfish. About ten fish can live in a five gallon tank.

I see goldfish in the category list of this question. That is a no-no. But i'll give you a list of fish that can go in that sank separately.

Blue Ram Cichlid- at most 1 (It would need an ornament to hide in)

Guppies-at most 6 (No females)

Platies- at most 4 (No females)

Mollies- at most 3 (No females)

Corydoras- at most 4 (This many bottomfeeders can be with the other fish)

Apple Snail- at most 4

The commonly used ratio that is proven healthy & safe for fish is one gallon of water for every inch of fish. So, five inches of fish. I'd go with two, maybe three if they're small.

How many gallon tank is good for 3 glofish?

I wouldn't go less than 10 gallons. Glofish are active fish that need plenty of swimming room. A long, shallow tank is better for them than a standard tank.

How many gallon fish tank should you get for your 3 fish?

Depends on the kind and size of the fish. You should also take in to consideration how large they will get at adulthood. A good rule of thumb to go by is 1 gallon of water for every 1 inch of fish. So for example: 3 2" fish should be in at least 6 gallons of water. To be safe I would put them in a 10 gallon aquarium.
