Yes you can. Al you need to do is install steam (http://store.steampowered.com/). The install button is in the top right corner of the page. All you need to do then is find spore in the steam store once it is downloaded and chose to enter the code. The great thing is even if you switch to a new computer you can keep all your games and saves through downloading steam onto the new computer.
How do you download a spore patch?
You are really not supposed to, but if you are playing an illegal copy of Spore™ then you can probably find the patches for it on the same site you downloaded it. Pirating is wrong and punishable by law.

How do you install spore starter pack?
It depends, I only know how to do it for PC. 1. Go to the Start Menu 2. Click on Control Panel 3. On control panel, there should be a program called "Add or Remove Programs", click on it 4. It will give you a long list of all the programs on the computer, locate Spore, click on it, there should be a button that says "Remove", click on it and follow the instructions. 5. Once it has completely finished Uninstalling, take out the disc, and put it back in, and Follow the instructions for setup. Hope this Helps! -Danny

What you do is search Spore Bot parts download on Google and find the site with Dr. Pepper (or just search spore bot parts dr. pepper download). Once there, the link to spore patch 1.06. Follow the steps on the page. Open your hard drive and poen progammed files. Then go to Electronic Arts, then Spore, then Data. Then, drag the file you just downloaded and drag it into data. Once dragged in, open spore and whalla! Hope it works.

That depends on what you intend to do with it. If your goal is long term storage then a print is a better choice. Once spores are hydrated in water and suspended in a spore syringe liquid they last about 6-12 months, versus up to 25 years as a spore print in proper storage.
