Glaciers are extremely heavy and massive. Glaciers cover about 10 percent of the Earth's land area and store around 75 percent of the world's freshwater.
Glaciers are dynamic to begin with, meaning they are always changing in some way. But most glaciers around the world are currently losing mass - that is, they are melting more than they can gain through new snowfall - largely because of warming temperatures.
The sea level lowered
actually glaciers arent extinct too this day glaciers are still roming around
All glaciers have been shrinking in the last 40 years/ Some say it is global warming. It is debatable if it is a natural cycle or caused by human interference.
all around the world :)

From what I've read recently, Glacier melt activity is happening all over/around the Earth; the Arctic Glaciers are receeding, the Antarctic Glaciers are receeding, the Glaciers in Glacier National Park in the US are almost gone, and the Glaciers in the Alps are receeding.

Many scientists from around the world and including the United States are fairly certain that there will be no more glaciers in Glacier National Park by around 2020. The main cause if global warming which has caused the rapid decline of most of the glaciers that were prevalent in the National Park - know down to only a few.
2/3 of the earth is covered by glaciers
There are two syllables in the word 'glaciers'.
Yes. There are many glaciers in the Himalayas.

The only continent without glaciers is Australia, though in older climes, it too had glaciers. Many islands, indeed most, do not have glaciers.
