Lastest version was 146.2bhp at th rear wheel.
The 1998 Yamaha R1/YZF-R1 had 150 horsepower and a 5-valve design. When the 2007 model came out, the horsepower had been increased to 180.
One million horsepower!
152
146 hp
according to cycle worlds buyers guide for 08 the Yamaha YZF- R1 has a claimed horsepower of 180 Exact quote "oh yeah, horsepower?" "A claimed 180 at the crank."
less than a Yamaha R1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10 billion.
182 HP
The Yamaha YZF-R1 generates about 128 horsepower. It reaches 60 miles per hour from zero in 2.96 and has a quarter mile time of 10.31 seconds.
The Yamaha R1 is faster
THE 2003 YAMAHA R1 MAKES 155HP BUT THE 2004 YAMAHA R1 MAKES 180HP But it depends on whether you're talking about engine horsepower or rear wheel horsepower and also there are many different variables. For example, ambient temperature, ambient pressure, humidity, type of fuel, type of oil, and what type of horsepower measurement you are using. But to give an example my bike is an 06 Yamaha R1 and the specs say it has 180 hp but when i dyno'd it today the actual SAE horsepower with about a 60mph wind (produced by fan for ram-air) was only 150 SAE HP (156 after installing bazzaz fuel manager and tuning). So its safe to assume that what the specs say can differ pretty significantly. Hope this helps.
I have one, and from what I recall researching when I bought it (brand new in June 2000) it has 147 HP on the crank.
