"Full time" and "part time" are not defined by Virginia law that I can find (most states do not address the topic, it appears Virginia is one of them), nor by federal law. Therefore your classification is determined by your employer, based on what is written in your employee handbook/company policy manual or whatever your company uses to outline its procedures.
"Full time" is usually 32-40 hours, whereas part time is anything below the full time threshold.
