How many kinds of stitches?

There are many different types of sewing, and each has different stitches. When sewing fabrics together for clothing, you would use Straight Stitch, Overcast Stitch, Hem Stitch, Zig Zag Stitch, and Overlock Stitch. There are several variations on these also.

For cross stitch projects, the main stitch is Cross Stitch, but there are also Half Cross, Vertical Cross, quarter cross, and some others.
