Most schools use the socratic method.

I am in law school and I find that this method is very effective. It forces law students to think on their feet. It can also lead a struggling student to the correct answer, or it can show that in the law, there is often no correct answer.

Used inappropriately, however, the Socratic method can cause extreme anxiety among students. It seems like some professors take pleasure into demonstrating how much smarter they are than the students.

What are lawyers form of education?

Lawyers must first get a four year degree from a state approved university. Most lawyers major in political science, history, philosophy, or economics. But it doesn't really matter what your degree is in. You can get a degree in underwater basket weaving and still go to law school. Then you take the LSAT test. This test is incredibly difficult and tests mainly logical reasoning skills. The highest score possible is 180. The LSAT score is the most important aspect for admission to law school. Then you go to law school, which is three years. In law school, students study the law and how to apply it, using the socratic method of teaching. If you make it through law school, and many people don't, then you get to take the bar exam. The bar is worse than the LSAT, and most law students study 10 hours a day for 2 months just in hopes of passing the bar to earn their license to practice law. If you ever wondered why lawyers charge so much money, it is because lawyers are burdened with TONS of student loan debt. Many law schools are very expensive, some charging over $40,000 dollars a year. So lawyers are in a hole of debt when they leave, so they have to charge their clients a lot of money.
