Part of Brisbane is very near to sea level, rising to the highest point at Mt Coot-tha, being 287 metres above sea level.

I have read that some parts of Brisbane are actually 2 metres below sea level.

The 1974 and 2011 Brisbane floods show how low some parts of Brisbane are, with many houses totally covered by the flood waters.
