It will depend to an extent on where in Cheshire you're travelling from and where abouts in Newcastle you want to go.

I regularly travel from the Northwich area of Cheshire to roughly the middle of Newcastle and it takes around 3 hours in no traffic, travelling via the M6, M62 then A1(M) and the distance is about 175 miles door to door.

Google maps is always good for giving an overview of mileage too if you want something more specific.
