Best Answer

Check each time you change oil approx. every 3,000 miles. Level should only drop minimally to compensate for brake pad wear.

When should you check your transmission fluid?

I have a 2001 325ci BMW with 150,000 miles. When should I check or change the transmission fluid?

What type of brake fluid do you use in buick?

DOT 3 from an unopened can. If you look on the cap for the master cylinder reservoir you will see the correct fluid listed. If you are having to add fluid then you have a leak or the brake pads are worn. Might want to inspect your system and check to see if you need new pads. Brake fluid should be changed at least every 50,000 miles.

What should you check on your car 15000 miles?

Check the automatic transmission fluid

How often should you check the brake fluid in your car?

The reservoir for each of these is usually transparent, so you can also verify the condition of the fluid at the same time. The brake fluid should be an amber color, while transmission fluid should be red. If you have an older car, you would check the brake fluid at the master cylinder, each side of which should be full. Be sure to close the lid securely after checking the fluid. The transmission fluid (on automatic transmition) is checked via a long dipstick, it should read between "add" and "safe". If you are in need of more transmission fluid, pour it in down the dipstick tube. A long funnel works well for this. Be sure to use the appropriate fluid for your transmission, they aren't all created equally. Or about 3,000 miles(about 3 months)

How often does transmission fluid need to be changed?

Usually you should change your transmission fluid after 60,000 miles, but to be safe you should check it after 30,000 miles and if it looks like it is low I would add some fluid.

What does 150000 maintenance 1998 Honda civic cover?

The timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, plug wires, should have been replaced at 105,000 miles. The automatic transmission fluid should also have been replaced at around 100,000 miles. At 150,000 miles you should replace the brake fluid. Also inspect the brakes, brake lines, exhaust system, and all suspension parts.

yes, get a complete check-up of the car which should include but not be limited to: - change the oil (when was the last time you changed it?) - change the oil filter & the air filter (again, when were they changed last?) - check the coolant and brake fluid - check the brake pads - inspect all lights including turning signals (for safety

Why does your brake caliper lockup?

It has probably rusted inside from moisture contamination. Do you change your brake fluid at least every 50,000 miles? Brake fluid attracts moisture and moisture destroys calibers. Replace the caliber and change your brake fluid.
