There are fourteen AGR reactors in operation, two at each place: Dungeness B, Hinkley Point B, Hunterston B, Heysham Stage 1, Heysham Stage 2, Hartlepool, Torness. Also one PWR at Sizewell. The only two magnox plants still operating are Oldbury and Wylfa, two reactors at each. That makes your total of nineteen.
According to the Int'l Atomic Energy Association, there are 19 operational plants in the UK. The same web site lists 26 plants in the UK that have been permanently shut down.

As of 2011, the UK produces about 19% of its power (roughly 10 GW) via nuclear means. Using the above metric that nuclear plants produce about 10 GigaWatts, that means the total yearly energy production of the those plants is about 87,600 GigaWatt-hours, or 315.36 TeraJoules.
20% of the worlds power is generated by nuclear power
UK should have nuclear power as it provides sustainability. It also prevents UK from using too much fossil fuel.
Many nuclear power stations in different countries-mainly the US, UK, France, Canada, Russia, and others.
Nuclear energy makes up 80% of France's energy intake. The USA has over 100 power plants and many countries are building more nuclear power plants (like India and China.) Poland is starting on Nuclear energy in 2020.
this depends... much of the power in the UK is supplied by nuclear power, and these power plants are mostly regulated by computors.. i assume its down to luck more than anything else.
