Not sure but a 2002 4 cylinder has 2. One at the front of the engine compartment directly into the manifold and the second is located in the catalytic converter underneath the car. You will have to remove the console inside of the car to disconnect the electrical connector and then crawl under the car to remove it from the catalytic converter. Purchase a Hayne's manual and an O2 wrench to make the job easy. I did both in 2 hours and 4 Bud Lights...lol (would've been quicker but it was the weekend).

towards the middle of thecar installed into the exhaust pipe
there should be 2 oxygen sensors, one easily seen just coming off exhaust part of engine and the second one just past catalytic converter.
O2 sensors are usually on the exhaust manifold. Actually on the '96 Galant, one is in the header pipe (the pipe running below the engine between the manifold and the catalytic converter) and the other is in the catalytic converter.
On the downpipe before the catalytic converter.
Both before and after.
The 4 cylinder models have two oxygen sensors, and the V6 models have four oxygen sensors.
It's on the exhaust manifold right under your hood, at least it is in my 2000 Galant 2.4 L.
where is bank1 sensor2 on the 1999 Mitsubishi montery sport 3.5
The oxygen sensors are in the exhaust one either side of the catalytic converter(s).
It should be equipped with both.
i think there is 2
