∙ 9y agoAccording to the Electoral Commission, there are officially 462 registered political parties in the United Kingdom (including parties of Northern Ireland) as of May 2015.
However this includes all sorts of wacky stuff, like a party that seeks to abolish the Magna Carta and restore the medieval monarchy, or a musician who wants to build a magic wall in his town to keep out rich people from the next town over.
