332,000
The number of active duty enlisted individuals is 317,054. The number of reserve personnel at this time is 109,120. Combining both active and reservists that gives a total of 426174 people enlisted in the navy.
There is no set limit or average - it depends entirely on the availability of qualified individuals, force loss, retention and recruiting needs, and annual Navy budget requests and approvals by Congress.

They were the thirteen former Navy enlisted men who became the first African American Navy commissioined at warrant Officers in the US Navy in March of 1944. When they received their commissions there were about 100,000 African Americans in the US Navy. (That works out to 7,692 enlisted for each officer.)
Over 52,000 US enlisted men were killed, and approximately 6,600 officers died in Vietnam.

I know the US Navy drafted in October of 1965 because they did NOT reach their enlistment quota
Enlisted men in the US Navy are often called "Blueshirts". Chiefs are enlisted supervisors who wear the same khaki uniforms that officers wear. Hence, both are often referred to as "the khakis". But Chiefs are sometimes called Chiefs, while Officers are more often called "khakis". Special Operations such as SEAL/SWCC often refer affectionately to regular Navy personnel as "blackshoes" or "shoes" since they usually wear their issued boondocker shoes instead of combat boots.
Well you can, but not for any credit for the navy seals.
There is not many that rank chief that get achievement medal. You have to be in the service for so long before getting the medal.
The generic term for individuals in the Navy is sailor. As of the end of August, 2007, the approximate total of Navy personnel (officer and enlisted) was around 338,000.

The complement of officers and enlisted crew aboard the 42-gun Navy warship Bonhomme Richard was approximately 380.
Yes. The Enlisted rate for medical personnel in the Navy is Hospital Corpsman (HM)
Enlisted people go to boot camp, and will initially do the majority of the "grunt work" on a ship (ie, sweeping, scubbing toilets, swabbing decks, etc). Once that enlisted person advances a few ranks, they will do less of that sort of thing. They do not get paid as much as officers, and also do not enjoy many of the privileges that officers do. Navy officers are usually responsible for a group of enlisted people, and act as their manager/leader. They spend much more of their time doing paperwork, attending meetings, making PowerPoint presentations, planning, and other things of that nature. This is a very generic response, as there are MANY types of officers and enlisted personnel in the Navy, with very diverse jobs and responsibilities. But hopefully you get the gist of it.
3000 people
Officers were seperated from enlisted personnel Army, Navy and Air Force had seperate camps as did the US/UK and Russians
Approximately 1.5 million active servicemen + 850,000 in reserve in the Army, Navy, Marines, Airforce, and Coast Guard combined.
You have enlisted my help in creating a sentence using the word enlisted. When the US entered World War II, many young men enlisted in the armed forces.
