On the 25th April 2015, an earthquake measuring 7.8 M triggered an avalanche that hit Mount Everest Base Camp. 18 bodies were recovered from Mount Everest by the Indian army mountaineering team. The avalanche began on Pumori, moved through the Khumbu Icefall on the southwest side of Mount Everest, and slammed into the South Base Camp

More people have lived while climbing the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest. Over 5,000 people have reached the summit and made it back down to base camp alive. Just over 200 have died while climbing on Mount Everest.
There has been a couple of hundred who have died while climbing on Mount Everest, I dont know of a list that is available.
As of May 2017, 292 people are known to have died in attempts to climb Mt. Everest. More than 100 (almost 1/3) of those were Nepalese Sherpas. The most famous two are probably George Mallory and Andrew Irvine.
