In the United States, it is 1:200 or about 3 million people. Of those, 1/3 will have a fatal or near fatal reaction in their lifetime (thankfully most will be NEAR fatal - not fatal). Peanut Allergies cause 150 deaths a year in the US.
I could not give you a worldwide figure. Peanut allergies are common in the US, Australia, and Western Europe. Less developed countries really don't have the problem. One thought is that we are too clean and our immune systems are backfiring on us.
i would say about 250 million people in the world are allergic to peanuts.

A Peanut Allergy is always severe, even if you have not had a serious reaction in the past. Many people take risks b/c they have not had a severe reaction in the past. Unfortunately, some of these people do die when they do have a severe reaction.
According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, as many as 1.5 million people suffer from a peanut allergy. Annually, about 100 people die from a reaction. (see Related Link below)
Reliable peanut allergy statistics are not that easy to come by. There is a lot of available research on food allergies in general but not too many studies have been done on peanut allergy alone. From 2004 to 2006, there were an average of 9,537 hospital discharges per year with a diagnosis related to food allergy among children 0 to 17 years.
Many people love peanut butter.
This depends to what "nut allergy" refers. A tree nut allergy would include "true" nuts, including sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews, etc. A peanut allergy is actually to a legume, so eating sunflower seeds would be safe as long as they were not processed in a plant that also processes peanuts or peanut-containing products.
About 125 people die from peanut allergies.
not that many because peanut butter cups are better
No! Wish I could tell you otherwise but there is not. So many people all over the world have it that when they find a cure I'm sure it will be on the news.
He was famous for finding many uses for the peanut. He is well known for inventing peanut butter.
Taste is an issue as is some people enjoy eating it or putting it on crackers celery as a diet adjunct and extra peanuts defeats this purpose also many people have special dietary restrictions or have bad teeth no teeth or partial or plates that peanuts get in or under and irritate them or if you have no teeth it makes it hard to eat also some people have an allergy to peanuts but not peanut butter each person is unique so you cant make one blanket generalization o.k.
