That's a question that's impossible to answer, because, by definition, you could not run the scenario in which the atom bombs were not dropped. The American military authourities considered a possible million-death scenario to defeat Japan if the bombs wwere not to be dropped.
The USA atomic bombed Hiroshima (1) and Nagasaki (2) after Japan refused to surrender. Japan surrendered after the bombing of Nagasaki. More people died when Tokyo (1st) and Dresden (2nd) then died at Hashim (3rd) and Nagasaki (4th). The atomic bombing of the two cities brought the war to a speedy end and saved countless lives.
Because Japan refused to surrender. Japan did not believe in surrender. They felt every Japanese person, men women children, civilian, military should die to save the emperor. It was the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki or the invasion of Japan. The invasion of Japan would have killed a lot more people than the two atomic bombs did. Japan surrendered after Nagasaki was bombed. It was the lesser of two evils and saved countless Allied and Japanese lives. There was No other way other than invasion to defeat Japan.
100,000 on the initial blast and between 50,000 to 70,000 after the blast from burns and radiation sickness and cancer. It is estimated the atomic bombs saved over a million lives both civilian and military. Nagasaki had 70,000 killed in the initial blast.
There are three main answers to this question. The first is that the atomic bomb was used for mainly military purposes to end the second world war quickly. Many believed it would be better and would save more American lives. The second is that the bomb was used to scare the Soviets and show them the United States' power. This would prove that the atomic bomb did in fact start the Cold War.The third would be that the first bomb was used to quickly defeat Japan and the second bomb was used to show power.I just had to write an essay on this topic and this is what I found.
It had to be a sunny day because the bomb had to be dropped from a high altitude so as not to endanger the bomber, and the only way to hit the target during that era was by sighting it through an optical bomb sight. After Hiroshima, the next city to be bombed was Kokura, but it was saved by heavy cloud cover, and Nagasaki was bombed instead.

It ended the war and probably saved lives.
The military who had to enter the main land.
The cons of dropping the atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the number of civilians killed. The other facts were positive like ending the war and the number of lives saved of our military personnel.
It is more than sufficient to justify this conclusion. Nonetheless, the witless litany, the lie that that bombing "saved the lives of a million Americans." -signed confessions of U.S. Secretary of War Henry Stimson-

They dropped in the city call Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The bomb for Hiroshima was the big and killed more people than Nagasaki's atomic bomb. I am sure that to dropping atomic bombs in Japan was mistake, even if they wanted to finish the war quickly. America said that to dropping the bomb in japan saved American solders life. But it also made Japanese people killed a lot. and we shouldn't use it forever and ever and never!
At the time probably since it was necessary demonstrated the new weapon and saved many lives, but US also had no idea there would be so many deaths after the fact because of the radiation. With that knowledge back then maybe the answer would have been no. Nagasaki is debatable because given more time to investigate (and find out was really only one bomb) Japan probably would have surrendered without another bombing.
Well you know what the atom bomb was used for in WW2? This was certainly negative for the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, on the other hand it saved many US lives in not having to invade Japan. So as usual there are two sides in the argument.
