Most scientists have estimated the worlds population at between 4% and 10% Gay and Lesbian with up to another 25% as Bisexual. The worlds population according to the United States Census Bureau is currently estimated to be 6,876,400,000 and the US population is 307,006,550.

The minimum 4% then would be: at least 275,056,000 worldwide, 12,280,262 for US.

it is a generally agreed statistic that 10 percent of the worlds population is gay, that holds true for the US and other First world countries where people have the right to act as they choose, it is statistically probable that all other countries have the same 10% gay population but people wont "come out" for fear of being shot, stoned or publically ostricized.
