Technically there are none. There is no such thing as a "poisonous" snake. They are venomous, not poisonous. Poison has to be ingested, while venom has to be injected.
However, of the approximately 2400 species of snakes in the world, around 600 are classified as "venomous". The bites from some would not affect a human seriously, while others are potentially fatal.
Edit- Actually, the previous comment about poisonous snakes is incorrect, so far there are at least 4 recognized species of POISONOUS snake, including, Rhabdophis tigrinus, Thamnophis atratus, Thamnophis couchii, Thamnophis sirtalis. Most of which aquire their poison from things they eat such as poisonous frogs and keep the venom in glands on their necks.
More than you can count !

The longest venomous snake in the world is the King Cobra, with one specimen reaching over 18.5 feet long. Several other venomous snakes - such as the bushmaster, eastern diamondback rattlesnake, or gaboon viper - may reach a greater weight than the king cobra even though they are much shorter. The appropriate word to use is "venomous", not "poisonous", because venom refers to a toxin that is injected by the animal, whereas poisonous animals are those who spread their toxin by being ingested or through contact with the skin.
To kill the enemies
The chokecherries are to be poisonous and they are not at the same time. The seed within the chokecherry is very poisonous. The outside of the chokecherry is not poisonous though. It is used for many things like wines and syrups.
2,900 species of poisonous snakes.
Yes, and sea-snakes are among the most poisonous snakes in the world.
Poisonous snakes are found all over the world. There are over a hundred species of snakes found in North America and only 4 of these species are poisonous.
None, there are no poisonous snakes. There are venomous snakes but not poisonous. The difference is the poison is usually on the skin of an animal like a frog, and you touch the poison and then get hurt. Venom is emitted by fangs or spikes into your skin or a body part and injected into you. There are no poisonous snakes.

Venomous snakes are found in many countries around the world - including the deserts of Africa, the rain forests of Central America, Australia, the United Kingdom and Asia.
Australia.
The anti-venom for many poisonous snakes, as well as a few other medically valuable substances, are made from the venom of poisonous snakes. Also, if someone has to handle poisonous snakes regularly, if they are milked on a set schedule, it reduces the danger of a bite from one of the snakes - the venom injected would be a tiny amount of normal.
