The 2005 Lincoln Navigator doesn't have an automatic transmission fluid dipstick , if your transmission isn't working properly or you suspect a leak take it to the dealer
According to the 1998 Lincoln Navigator Owner Guide : ( Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid ) * the type of fluid used should be engraved in the automatic transmission fluid dipstick or indicated on the dipstick handle *

I was looking at various Owner Guides for a 2000 Lincoln : ( Continental , LS , Town Car , Navigator ) They all show ( Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid is used as the power steering fluid )

You don't. The transmission on a 2004 Lincoln LS is sealed.
The transmission fluid on a 2003 Lincoln Aviator is changed by placing a drain pan under the transmission and removing the drain plug. Once empty, the plug can then be re-installed and filled with new transmission fluid.
