According to my Chilton's repair manual :
The ( 1977 ) American Motors Matador with the 360 V8 engine takes :
( with engine oil filter change , 5 U.S. quarts )
Change the filter at the same time and you will need 5 quarts.
I did my oil change yesterday and did one gallon which equals = 5 quarts. And my dip stick claims it was Max. And one time i took it to a oil change place and they used 5 quarts. So 5 quarts would be my best bet. Most cars take 5-6.
It holds aproximately 4.5 quarts of oil. My recommendation is I add four quarts and check the level and add accordingly to bring the level to full on a oil change with a new filter.I have done this for 22 years and do this every time.
The 1997 Harley Davidson Road King holds 4 quarts of oil if the filter is changed at the same time as the oil change. The bike itself will hold 3.5 quarts without a new filter.
The inline Jaguar 4.0 engine uses 8 quarts of oil. This is true for the supercharged XJR as well. This series or XJ300 model by Jaguar using the inline or straight 6 all use this many quarts Be prepared if you take it in to any shop for an oil change since their pricing only applies to vehicles using up to 5 quarts so be prepared to bring in 3 additional quarts and they will pour them in without charge. I do this on occassion when I don't have time to do my own oil change. Dave (Las Vegas)
It will hold 4 quarts total. if you change engine oil without changing filter (NOT RECOMMENDED) it will take 3.85 quarts. If you do change filter (Recommended) at the time of engine oil change it will take 4 US quarts total to be full.
Engine oil capacity for the 2.5 liter is around 5 quarts. A little more when you change the filter, but 5 quarts will do. But then you'll find that out the first time that you change the oil.
299 gallons is equal to 1196 quarts. There are four quarts in a gallon, so any time you need to know how many quarts are in a certain number of gallons, just multiply by four.
The amount of oil really depends on which engine you have. Start with a new oil filter and then add five quarts of oil. Check the dipstick adding a little at a time until it hits the full mark.
depends on the size of the motor, but my 95 impreza 1.8L usually take about 4.6 liters each time i change the oil.
Since there are 4 quarts in a gallon. 4 quarts can only go into 1 gallon, one time.
Hi, The specification is 4.5 quarts. If you are going to change your oil AND the filter, I always get 5 quarts. I will put 4.5 quarts, start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes, and then double check your level & top it off - a little at a time - with the last quart until the level is right up to the full line on the dip stick.
