The transmission fluid for the 2000-2004 Taurus is MERCON V.
i put 2 quarts dexron mercron tranny fluid in my dodge 2000 stratus it jerked once so i didnt drive it anymore and changed the fluid asap to synthetic will it be okay?
That would depend on how much fluid was removed. Was it a typical fluid and filter replacement or was the transmission removed. If the tranny was not removed. always start with about 4 to 6 quarts. If the transmission has been removed and the torque converter drained, then about 8 to 10 quarts.
tranny could be gone.or you may need tranny fluid or you have too much tranny fluid.
On a standard tranny there is no reservoir. On an automatic tranny it is internal to the tranny. The fluid resides in the transmission pan.
there is no way to check the tranny fluid in a automatic 2000 Vette..GM didnt put a dip stick on this tranny..
A 2000 Ford Taurus has a coolant capacity of 11.6 quarts. This is in fact very close to 3 gallons.
best thing is to take it to a shop and have it flushed. the pan only holds about 4 quarts. the tranny and converter total about 11 quarts so you cant change it all unless u have the shop equipment to pump the fluid through
1.7 quarts
3.5 quarts 3.5 quarts
When changing the filter and fluids of a car, it is important to know the fluid capacity. A 2000 Isuzu Trooper uses 9.1 quarts of transmission fluid.
