Most truck under one ton uses 5 quarts of oil for the engine. One item that changes the fill amount is the length of the oil filter. You can't go wrong if you drain and fill the engine by looking at the dipstick. Put four quarts in then start the engine, check the oil level, add a quart in if you need it. Don't panic if it 1/2 a quart over the full line it won't hurt the engine.
