Not really sure how many square, but a bundle of ridge cap normally covers 25 lineal feet. since cap dosent really cover any area ive never figured how many square it covers. hope this helps
---------------------------------------------
A square is 100 square feet of covered area, but knowing how many squares there is in a bundle of ridge caps is not of much value. It is important to know how many feet of ridge can be covered with a bundle.
if you're using 3-tad shingles for your caps, it's generally 30-32 feet. That's based on 5 3/4" cap exposure with 21 shingles to a bundle. Some companies have smaller shingles, but more in a bundle. Owens corning have 27 with 5" exposure, giving you more length but less width.
Not sure, but one bundle covers 33.33 square feet. 3 bundles to a square.
Cut three tab shingles for your ridge cap. (20 year)
I would get 120 so you'll have enough for ridge cap and starter strip.
It depends on the type of shingle. A traditional "three tab" shingle will cover 21 lin. ft. of ridgecap.
Not all pallets of shingles have the same number of bundles. It depends on the size and weight of the shingles, as well as the manufacturer. Timbertex Ridge Cap shingles come 30 pieces to a bundle and 33 bundles on a pallet.
peak or ridge or ridge cap
A square covers 100 sq. ft. so 7 squares plus 2 bundles for the starter course and the ridge cap.
40x40=1,600 sq. ft. 100 sq. ft. in a square. 16 square. Allow extra for the starter row and the cap unless you are going to use a ridge vent.
measure the square footage of the roofed area and divide by 100. That will give you the number of "square" (100 square ft/square) in your roof. Add approximately 5 to 10% for valleys and special cuts, depending on how simple the roof is. Measure the total length of the ridge line (hip as well) and purchase that much ridge cap... +10%
If you have cut up roof you will need just under 10% for starters and ridge cap. (3 tab) Example a 60 square roof would need 5-6 squares. Lower pitched roofs would of course require less.
4 bundles of shingles covers 100sq.ft. of course this is approx. shingles come in several sizes and then you must allow for waste cuts etc
