On the list of towns with a population of 5000 or more, there's a Lexington in Kentucky, Maryland (Lexington Park), Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. That's seven if you count Lexington Park. Any Lexingtons in other states will be smaller than 5000 people.
It's probable that most states have at least one city or town named Lexington. Here are two of them:
Indiana - small town near Scottsburg, about 30 miles from Louisville, KY
Kentucky - 2nd largest city in Kentucky and 65th largest in the US, home of the University of Kentucky Wildcats

The question should be: How many states have cities named after them in THEIR state? (If it is worded in this manner.) Or better yet: How many states also have a city with a matching name, such as Kansas City, Kansas?
