There is no simple answer to this question because a tablespoon is a measurement of volume while half a pound is a measurement of mass (weight). So the answer depends upon what is being measured. One tablespoon of rice flour will weigh far more than a tablespoon of puffed rice.

However if you are measuring a liquid then one tablespoon is approximately equivalent to half an ounce. In this case then sixteen tablespoons equal half a pound.

this depends on the substance. In some cases they are directly in proportion. 250ml butter = 250g butter (here in South Africa) yet 250 ml flour = 120g flour (in South Africa).

As for dry measurements, there are 96 teaspoons in a pound. For fluid ounces, measurements can range a little bit depending on what you measure.

Teaspoon is a measure of volume. Pound is a measure of weight. They do not interchange. 50 teaspoons of flour and 50 teaspoons of lead do not weigh the same.
