If it is a puppy, you should give it one a day. When it gets around 13 weeks, you can start feeding it two.
If it is a fat cat, hardly any. If it is normal weight, a treat every day or so. If its skinny, it needs no treats but more nutritious food.
One in the morning one in the afternoon and one in the evening just make sure itd small treats you don`t want to have a overweight dog.
Giving a treat is not breed specific. I give my dogs a treat whenever they do what I ask them to do. It's basically telling them that what they did is good and right so they would learn.

Most dogs will work better if you give them treats as rewards. However some dogs prefer a different other rewards such as a toy or a game. I have yet to meet a dog that will work for nothing though.
Some people do but I don't give my dog any. Most of all, you are not supposed to give it to them.
Probably just training treats
