There is no one answer to this question, because the US has made a number of military interventions which might be described as police actions or as wars, depending upon your political philosophy. Recently the US sent in the air force to impose a no-fly zone in Libya during the rebellion against Moamar Ghadaffi; you might or might not count this as a war. However, let me list what I consider to be the real wars that the US has fought in since the Revolutionary War:

The War of 1812

The Civil War

The Spanish American War

WW I

WW II

The Korean War

The Vietnam War

The Gulf War

The Second Gulf War

The Afghanistan War (still in progress as I type, on May 28, 2013). That adds up to ten.
