I think we can not say proper year like 10,15,20,50 about that because Architects naturally sympathize. We have the empathy gene. In abundance. More than our fair share, allowing us to put ourselves in the place of another. Others may be for the money-we're burning the midnight oil, because we care.

By definition, anyone who designs floorplans for residential, commercial and/or industrial buildings is an architect. Most people attend colleges or universities prior to beginning a career as an architect, however as with many things the skills required for such a vocation can be learned on one's own. Certification, training and experience will certainly help one gain the knowledge required. The passion for learning and creation will ultimately propel one into a successful career as an architect.
If I'm not mistaken Michael's career lasted about 40 plus years.
It does require a lot of persistence and hard work. Becoming an architect is a long process and many do give up before reaching licensure. However, most people with a passion for architecture and design should be able to do it. Getting your license requires and accredited degree in architecture (a 5-year Bachelor of Architecture or a 2- to 3-year Master of Architecture), an internship program that requires minimally 3 years to complete (known as IDP), and 7 exams known as the ARE. Theoretically you could finish in 8 years, but most people take much longer. It is not for the faint-at-heart, but many people find architecture a rewarding career.
